Here’s how you can join the Dodgers World Series parade and celebration

PUBLISHED THU, OCT 31 2024 4:56 PM GMT+7

Tickets for a celebration at Dodger Stadium following the team’s victory parade in downtown Los Angeles went on sale at noon on Thursday, and they quickly sold out, much like a home run ball hit by Freddie Freeman.

Sales began for the special fan event with the team, but by early afternoon, a notice on the ticket website confirmed that tickets were no longer available.

The Dodgers’ double-decker bus parade will start at 11 a.m. Friday, beginning at LA City Hall. The 45-minute route will travel along 1st Street, Grand Avenue, and 5th Street, ending at the intersection of 5th and Flower Street. Fans are encouraged to use public transportation to avoid heavy traffic and street closures.

Dodger Stadium will host a ticketed celebration starting at 12:15 p.m., with parking gates opening at 8:30 a.m. and stadium entry starting at 9 a.m. Entertainment will be provided while fans wait for the team to arrive, including live coverage of the parade on DodgerVision scoreboards. However, the team has noted that attending both the parade and the stadium celebration won’t be possible due to timing and traffic.

The team landed at LAX on Thursday morning, with pitcher Walker Buehler carrying the World Series trophy. After their arrival, they made a stop at Dodger Stadium, where fans had gathered to greet them.

The Game 5 win on Wednesday night, marked by a combination of Dodgers’ grit and Yankees’ errors, sparked celebrations throughout the city. This World Series victory is especially significant because it comes in a full season, unlike the pandemic-shortened 2020 season when celebrations were limited and a parade wasn’t possible.

The 2023 title is the first full-season World Series championship for the Dodgers in 36 years, capping off a promising season that saw the addition of two-time MVP Shohei Ohtani to a lineup that already included MVPs Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts.

Fans looking to attend the parade are advised by city officials to use the Metro for easier access to downtown LA. The parade will proceed from City Hall, south on Spring Street, west on 1st Street, south on Grand Avenue, and west on 5th Street, ending at 5th and Flower Streets. Metro options include:

The B and D Lines from North Hollywood and Wilshire/Western to Civic Center/Grand Park, Pershing Square, or 7th St/Metro Center stations.

The A Line from the San Gabriel Valley or South Bay to Second/Broadway, Grand Ave Arts/Bunker Hill, or 7th St/Metro Center stations.

The E Line from Santa Monica or East LA to the same stations.

Union Station, which connects to Metrolink, Amtrak, and other bus services, also provides access to these Metro lines.

For those attending the event at Dodger Stadium, Metro will run its Dodger Express service to the stadium. The event will feature food, merchandise, and pre-arrival entertainment, with stadium gates opening at 9 a.m.
